Who this policy covers

This policy applies to visitors of the Vyomkesh Solar website, people who submit a consultation or quote request, calculator users, and customers whose systems we design, install or monitor. It is written in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under them.

Information we collect

We only collect what is needed to assess, design and deliver a solar system for you.

• Contact details: name, phone number, email address and city.
• Property details: property type, approximate roof area, monthly electricity bill and any message you add to a request.
• Calculator inputs and results, so the proposal we prepare matches the assumptions you explored.
• Project documents you choose to share later, such as electricity bills, ownership proof or DISCOM correspondence needed for net metering and subsidy filings.
• Technical data collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device and pages viewed, used to keep the site secure and understand how it performs.

How we use it

Your information is used for the following purposes and nothing else.

• Preparing feasibility assessments, system designs and commercial proposals.
• Contacting you by phone, WhatsApp, SMS or email about your request, survey scheduling, installation and after-sales support.
• Filing net-metering, subsidy (including PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana) and permission applications on your behalf, only when you engage us for a project.
• Operating monitoring dashboards and warranty services for installed systems.
• Improving the website, calculator accuracy and our services through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
• Meeting legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

Consent and legal basis

By submitting a form you consent to being contacted about your request. Marketing messages are only sent if you opt in, and every such message carries a way to opt out. Where we process documents for government filings, we do so on your written instruction as part of a signed project engagement.

Who we share it with

We never sell personal information. It is shared only with:

• Installation crews, structural engineers and logistics partners working on your project, limited to what they need for the job.
• Electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs), the national solar portal and financing partners, when you ask us to process approvals, subsidies or loans.
• Service providers that host our website, database and communication tools under confidentiality obligations.
• Government authorities where required by law, court order or to protect our legal rights.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data that does not lead to a project is deleted or anonymised within 24 months of the last contact. Project records, invoices, warranty and monitoring data are retained for the life of the warranty and any period required by Indian tax and company law, after which they are securely deleted.

Security

Data is stored on access-controlled cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit, role-based access for staff and audit logging. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we act promptly on any suspected incident and notify affected individuals and authorities where the law requires it.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Request corrections to inaccurate or outdated details.
• Withdraw consent or ask us to delete your data, subject to records we must retain by law.
• Opt out of marketing communications.
• Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer using the contact details at the end of this page. We respond within 30 days.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses strictly necessary cookies for security and, on the admin portal, for session management. Optional analytics, where enabled, use aggregated usage statistics without profiling individuals. You can block cookies in your browser; the public site continues to work without them.

Children

Our services are offered to adults who own or manage property. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has shared data with us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the current version; material changes are announced on this page and, for customers, by email.
